Our Story

Always here, in the same place.

1994 2026
0 years, at the same address

We opened in Samseong-dong in 1994. A hospital founded by the Gasan Medical Foundation, part of the Kwangdong Pharmaceutical group, has spent thirty-two years in the same place in the middle of Gangnam.

In medicine the hardest asset to build is neither the equipment nor the interiors. It is time. That is why we say ‘from the start’.

Positioning — A Future-Ready Integrated Hospital

Our promise: From the start, Kwangdong.
Our position: a future-ready integrated hospital.

Specialist clinics look deeply at one thing, and stop there. Tertiary hospitals can see everything, but every change of department means another booking and another wait. Integrated, and without the wait — that is the place Kwangdong Hospital has chosen.

First, what we should tell you

Kwangdong Hospital does not perform surgery. We have fewer departments than a university hospital, and our checkup floors are not as large as those of a big screening center.

Instead

Testing and diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, admission and recovery carry on without a break, inside one building. You will not need to book and wait again to reach the next department.

When surgery or highly specialized treatment is needed, we refer you to a major university hospital — and the recovery and long-term care that follow come back here.

The space is not large. So we spend longer with each person.

Where to Start

Not with a department, but with a symptom.

Few patients arrive knowing which department they need. So instead of a list of specialties, we put what you are going through right now first.

More Valuable

A new standard for the health checkup.

What makes a checkup worth having — the one you take every year, or after a long while and a big decision? Through our ‘More Valuable’ campaign, we propose five standards for a checkup you can trust.

If the results show nothing wrong, it simply ends there. Only when something is found do we carry you on to the next appointment.

01
More
Advanced
A board that designs the tests

Our test items are built by a Program Development Board on current medical evidence, with the links between items weighed. Dr. Sang-Heon Cho, who planned and ran the SNU Hospital Gangnam Center, takes part.

02
More
Personalized
Read for one person

Even inside a standardized frame, tests and their reading must reflect individual risk factors.

03
More
Reliable
Not a one-off

Beyond a single diagnosis, it has to carry on into continuing care and prevention.

04
More
Competitive
Sensibly designed

We designed the pricing weighing medical value and economic sense together.

05
More
Hearted
Warm attentiveness

A checkup is complete when precise equipment is joined by warm attention and a calm environment. The space is not large, so we spend longer with each person.
