The brain health care you need now

Start where it fits
your current condition.

Those who want to check early, those who feel different from before, those who need care after a diagnosis. You can begin from the start, at Kwangdong Hospital.

Care that does not end with the test

From the start of brain health
to the daily life that follows.

Which tests you need, how to understand the results, and what to do afterward. More important than a single test is the next step that fits the result.

01Consultation · Assessment

We check your health status and any changes.

02Results · Diagnosis

We interpret the test results and their cause.

03Tailored plan

We decide on preventive care, or treatment and rehabilitation.

04Continuing care

We follow your progress and adjust the plan.

Treatment is not decided from checkup results alone. When needed, a neurology visit and further assessment set the direction of care.

More important than a single test
is the next step that fits the result.

Consultation and detailed assessment

Changes in memory:
an accurate assessment sets the direction.

We look at cognitive function, brain imaging and changes in daily life together. Rather than running every test at once, we guide you to the tests you need, matched to the purpose of the visit and your current condition.

Assessment 01COGNITION

Cognitive and daily function assessment

  • Consultation with you and your caregiver, and medical history
  • Cognitive function tests and assessment of daily function
  • Review of related factors such as sleep, mood and medications
Assessment 02IMAGING

MRI · MRA

  • Imaging that checks brain structure and blood vessels
  • Performed at the B1 imaging center
  • Read by a radiology specialist
Assessment 03IMAGING

CT

  • Imaging that evaluates structural changes in the brain, at the doctor’s judgment
  • Performed only when needed

When the tests are done, we go over the results together. We explain your current condition, whether further care is needed, and the next steps in your care.

Treatment and management options

Not everyone needs
the same treatment.

We do not judge by age alone, or by a single test result. Considering your current condition, changes and daily life together, we look at not only memory but how you function in daily life.

PreventPrevention · Health management

We review your results, lifestyle and other conditions, then guide daily care such as exercise, nutrition and sleep.

ObserveSubjective cognitive decline

If tests are normal but discomfort continues, we review sleep, mood and medications and set a time for reassessment.

MCIMild cognitive impairment (MCI)

We follow changes with cognitive rehabilitation, risk factor management and repeat cognitive assessments.

IntegrateIntegrated dementia care

We plan medication, cognitive and physical rehabilitation, caregiver counseling and follow-up assessments together.

The categories above are a guide to understanding directions of care, not sequential stages or criteria for self-diagnosis.

Option 01MEDICATION

Medication chosen to fit the diagnosis

  • Lecanemab · Considered selectively in early Alzheimer’s disease after an eligibility assessment. We explain the pre-treatment tests, expected benefits and side effects, and plan safety monitoring such as MRI.
  • Cerebrolysin · Based on your diagnosis and health status, we review whether this injectable is needed and decide after consultation with a specialist.
  • This does not mean all of the medications above are used, or given together.
Option 02REHABILITATION

Treatment and rehabilitation matched to cognitive and physical function

  • Tailored cognitive rehabilitation · We discuss whether to use SuperBrain, Pascal or CogThera (MCI cognitive training), matched to your current function.
  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) · A non-invasive magnetic stimulation treatment. A specialist determines whether it is suitable for you.
  • Gait, balance and strength rehabilitation · We assess sarcopenia, dizziness and fall risk together and plan the training.
Option 03WHOLE BODY

Whole-body health alongside cognitive health

Under review
  • Lymphatic circulation therapy
  • PRP anti-aging program
  • IVNT intravenous nutrient therapy
  • These do not replace cognitive treatment and are not offered to everyone.

The treatment and care options are still under medical review and not yet finalized. The actual items, methods and frequency are explained individually after your visit. Lecanemab requires an eligibility assessment and safety monitoring such as MRI, and treatments such as TMS are not offered to the general public for blanket prevention. The whole-body items are not presented as preventing dementia or improving cognitive function.

Integrated collaborative care led by Neurology

Neurology sets the plan,
and other departments join as needed.

Neurology oversees diagnosis and treatment planning, and brings in the departments you need, considering cognitive function, physical function and other conditions together.

Continuing care, alongside treatment and beyond

Daily life until your next visit
is part of the care, too.

Sleep and mood, chronic conditions, lifestyle and family caregiving. We check your current condition and progress and adjust the care plan.

01Sleep · Mood

We look at sleep problems, depression and anxiety, and medications together.

02Chronic conditions · Risk factors

Hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia are managed with Geriatric and Internal Medicine.

A separate start for prevention

If you have no symptoms yet
but want to check early.

The Brain Health Checkup is not only for those suspected of dementia. We keep the checkup that reviews your health separate from center care based on its results, and connect the two.

Frequently asked questions

Before your first visit,
check what you want to know.

QIs the center only for people suspected of dementia?+
No. Anyone can consult us: those without symptoms who want to check their brain health, those worried about memory changes, and those who need treatment and continuing care after a diagnosis. Preventive checkups and visits for symptom assessment are guided separately, according to their purpose.
QMy tests are normal, but I do not feel like I used to. What then?+
A result within the normal range and the discomfort you feel need to be looked at together. We review the pattern of change, sleep, mood, medications and daily function, then decide on the care you need and whether to reassess. We do not recommend medication or procedures across the board on the basis of a normal result.
QDo I need every test, treatment and department?+
No. Which tests, treatment and rehabilitation you need, and which departments take part, depends on your visit and assessment results. Several departments can work together, but not every patient visits every department.
QCan anyone receive lecanemab?+
No. It is not a treatment for every case of mild cognitive impairment or dementia. In early Alzheimer’s disease, eligibility is assessed through the necessary diagnosis and confirmation of amyloid pathology, and the decision is made with a specialist after you hear about the expected benefits, side effects and MRI safety monitoring.
QWhat should I prepare before the visit?+
If you have previous test results, imaging and a list of your medications, please bring them. Notes on what has changed and since when are helpful. If possible, come with a family member who knows your daily life well.

to steady care for everyday life.
