Dr. Sang-Hoon Shin is a rehabilitation medicine specialist and directs the Orthopedic Pain & Rehabilitation Center. His areas are post-surgical rehabilitation, sarcopenia, vestibular rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation and musculoskeletal pain. He also performs nerve conduction and EMG studies.
The center's starting point is that one kind of pain can have several causes. Back pain can come from a disc, from muscle loss, from posture or from inflammation. Treatment follows from which one it is.
Going downhill, you carry your body weight while bending and straightening the knee again and again, so people with arthritis feel the pain most clearly then.

Once the cause is clear, exercise specialists and physical therapists on 5F work with the patient one to one. For people recovering from surgery done elsewhere, the center repeats the same tests used before surgery so that recovery can be compared, not guessed.
When dizziness is part of the picture, he works with neurology, Korean medicine and internal medicine in the Dizziness Center on 3F.
