Vestibular Rehabilitation Clinic

Vestibular Rehabilitation
Program / No.03 / Dizziness Center

The word is always “dizzy,”
but what if the causes all differ?

BPPV, Ménière’s, tinnitus: as many causes as there are names. Four departments, Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Korean Medicine and Internal Medicine, start by sorting out the cause.

Who it is for

If you have been
from hospital to hospital.

Dizziness has many causes, and a single department can easily miss one. Four departments see you together.

01The room spins around me
02I feel unsteady even when I am still
03I hear ringing in my ears and feel anxious
04I have palpitations and have fainted before
05I was treated for BPPV but the dizziness remains
06I worry about falling because of dizziness
What is included

From testing to rehabilitation,
in one flow.

The tests that find the cause and the exercise therapy that follows, bundled into one.

Step 01

  • Vestibular function (VNG)
  • Autonomic function (ANS)
  • Balance and gait assessment
  • Brain and cervical imaging (MRI · MRA)
  • Full blood panel
  • ECG
  • Echocardiography

Not the symptom.
We treat the cause.

Dr. Yeon-Jeong Kim · NeurologyThe same dizziness calls for a completely different treatment depending on its cause.
How it works

Find the cause,
then retrain balance.

It all continues inside one building. You never leave for a test or a consultation.

01History

We start by checking when it happens, in what position, and how long the spinning lasts.

02Differential tests

VNG, ANS, balance, imaging, blood and heart. Only what is needed is chosen.

03Joint review

Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Korean Medicine and Internal Medicine read the results together in one place.

04Treatment by cause

Depending on the cause, treatment is chosen from repositioning maneuvers, medication, acupuncture, Chuna and pharmacopuncture, or medical correction.

05Vestibular rehabilitation

On 5F, your sense of balance is retrained. VNG testing before and after rehabilitation shows the change.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know
before you book.

QIf it is BPPV, isn’t a repositioning maneuver enough?+
First-line treatment is a repositioning maneuver (Epley, BBQ roll and others). But residual dizziness and recurrence can remain, so VOR training, habituation exercises and balance training continue for 2–6 weeks.
QHow long do the tests take?+
About half a day, including vestibular and autonomic testing. If imaging is needed, it is scheduled separately.
QIs Korean medicine part of the treatment?+
Acupuncture, Chuna and pharmacopuncture ease tense muscles, rebalance the autonomic nervous system and improve circulation. They are added as needed.
QDo you also treat tinnitus?+
Secondary tinnitus is first ruled out together with Neurology. Primary tinnitus is treated with pharmacopuncture and Chuna in a course of 10 sessions.
QHow many sessions will I need?+
It depends on your condition, but usually 1–2 times a week for 4–8 weeks. Before-and-after assessment decides whether to extend.
